Egyptian Gods were very sacred to the people of egypt. They believed that there was a god for almost everything. There was a lord or god of the dead, a god of upper and lower egypt, a god of the living, and a god for almost everything else one can think of.

Some examples of egyptian gods are Horus, Osiris, Isis, Seth, Ra, Snefru, Anubis, Thoth and many, many more. Osiris is the god of the underworld. Isis was Osiris' wife and goddess. Ra was the King of Upper and Lower Egypt, Seth is Osiris' brother and there are a lot more...
Anubis- Anubis invented imbalming so that he could inbalm Osiris, which would be the first mummy. He was the guide of the dead. Anubis would then weigh your heart against the feather of Ma'at. But first he steadied the scales to make the weighing be fair.

Horus- Horus is drawn as a hawk, or a man wirt a hawk's head, and the crown of Egypt. he looks a little like Ra, but Ra wears a sun disk, and Horus' crown is mad e of two parts. The white part is the crown of upper egypt and the red part is the crown of lower Egypt.

Isis- Isis was the great mother goddess. she was married to Osiris. And was the mother to Horus and protected him from his enemy Seth. Isis was a good healer and magician she got her amgic powers by a trick. Ra had magica; powers that only he knew the secret name for so noone else could have them. but as he grew old he began to drool as he slept. so one day Isis gathered his drool and made it into a snake. She put it near Ra so that he would step on it,a nd he did and it bit him. Ra sreamed with pain and all the gods came running to see what was wrong. He was in alot of pain and it was getting worse. So Isis told him that if he told her the secret name then she would have enough powers to heal him. He didn't want ot at first but the pain got so bad that finally he did and she healed him and then had the powers that Ra had.

Osiris- Osiris is shown here as a man with a beard and wrapped in white mummy cloth. He has the white crown of upper egypt with read feathers. He is holding the symbols of extreme power the flail and the crool, and his skin in green to represent vegatation. Osiris was the god of the dead. you would think that a god like him would be bad or even evil, but death was a big thing to the egyptians. They mummified the dead abnd buried them with their belongings so that they could have a good afterlife.

Ptah (silent P)- Ptah is the god that represents the sun when it rises and sets. He is said to be the creator god. Ptah was the god who built the boats for the souls of the dead people to use in the afterlife.

Ra- Ra was the god of the sun.He sailed in the heavens in a boat called "Barque of Millions of Years". Everyday he was joined by many gods The boat sailed through the twelve provinces, representing the twelve hours of daylight. And at the end of the day it was thought that Ra died and then sailed on a noght voyage through the underworld leabing the mon to light the world at night. And the next day he was born again.
