The Mogul Empire
In the late thirteen hundreds, an evil-doing, Muslim Mongol ruler named Timur Lenk took over much of central Asia and took Samarkand as the capital of his empire. He sacked the city of Delhi, India, and killed many thousands of people. However, when he died, his empire fell.
In the early fifteen hundreds, Babur (a descendant of Timur Lenk) made the Mongol dynasty. Unlike his ancestor, Babur preferred orderly government and encouraged the arts. Babur’s grandson Akbar became ruler and supported all religions. He was able to release tension in the empire. Later, he tried to start his own religion which enveloped many faiths.
