Mogul Civilization
Although Akbar was illiterate, he valued and understood the importance of education. Mogul art, music, and literature flourished under Akbar’s rule. Shah Jahan, another ruler, built the extravagant and infamous mosque called Taj Mahal.
During the sixteen hundreds, religious tolerance was no longer, and many Hindus and Sikhs were persecuted for their beliefs. However, the two religious groups fought back, and slowly but surely weakened the Mogul government.
